Hugo von Hagen is a very handsome 6-7 year old Australian Shepherd mix.  Fun-sized Hugo might not look much like the other dogs at the rescue, but all those who meet him agree that he’s got enough heart for a dog ten times his size. Hugo is loyal and highly intelligent.  He's a breeze to walk on leash and rarely pulls.  At home he exudes this calm energy, especially when he’s in the company of his favorite people.  Around other dogs, Hugo does very well -- especially around chill types like him.  Hugo doesn’t have that intense energy level that comes with most Aussies and Aussie mixes.  Instead, his intensity is all focused on his love for you.  For that reason, he is looking for a home with someone who will be his shepherd --  an owner who will lead the way and hold him accountable when he feels he might need to take charge.  A virtue of his parentage, Hugo is a smart boy and, in fact, is already housetrained.  He knows that it’s never too late to learn even more and is looking forward to doing so beside you.
